Penumpangnya pun hampir semuanya tenaga kerja asing, termasuk tenaga

disiplin, lalu-lintas kendaraan pun kerap semrawut. Namun anehnya,

polisi. Kalau satu kali pelanggaran saja terkena denda 50 ringgit,
habis uang gajian saya," kata Azir (35), Kamis (28/9), salah seorang
sopir bus kota di Brunei Darussalam. Ayah dua anak asal Tulungagung,

berlalu-lintas.

Nunes on critics: 'I don't really listen to what anyone says' [CNN]

(CNN)House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes dismissed claims from top Democrats that he is colluding with the White House, and said House investigators talked scheduling with former national security adviser Michael Flynn before his request for immunity.
"I don't really listen to what anyone says," Nunes said Monday when asked about Rep. Adam Schiff's accusation over the weekend that Nunes and the White House had engaged in "subterfuge" in the rollout of news about incidental collection of top aides to President Donald Trump.

Nunes also disputed that Flynn had requested immunity in order to testify, saying he did not read the statement from Flynn's lawyer that way.

Nunes said that House investigators had been scheduling a time to bring in Flynn earlier, but said they have not spoken since then or since Flynn made his offer.
"That's not asking for immunity," Nunes said, when read the statement from Flynn's lawyer by a CNN reporter. "I mean that's not a direct request for immunity from what I can see. Look, all that happened is there was an initial discussion about scheduling -- that was it. I think people just jump on this based on things that get leaked or half-truths.

Ahok membenarkan Dalam Video Yang Diputar Jaksa Adalah Dia

Todung Mulya Lubis: Upaya Pelemahan KPK Harus Dilawan

Selain Todung, hadir pula Erry Ryana.

Jangan Utak Atik UU KPK

Kami harap Wantimpres mempercepat akselarasi reformasi birokrasi," tutur Agus.

Fox braces for fallout from Bill O'Reilly scandal》》

If Bill O'Reilly weren't the biggest star at Fox News, would he still have a job at Fox News?

Many media industry observers, reading about the harassment allegations that have cost O'Reilly and Fox millions of dollars, are saying he would not.

What does that answer say about the Murdoch media empire?

Murdoch and his sons are standing near O'Reilly, although not right next to him, by renewing his contract, but not issuing a full-throated defense.

And Fox's executives are waiting and watching, anticipating that more women will come forward with allegations against O'Reilly.

Other people in and around the cable news channel are also wondering about that -- and asking if any advertisers will avoid "The O'Reilly Factor" as a result of the scandal. A related question: will O'Reilly's viewers care about the controversy?

Murdoch associates winced on Saturday when The New York Times reported that five women received settlement payouts after accusing O'Reilly of harassment or verbal abuse. The Times said its reporting "suggests a pattern:" O'Reilly would wield his influence to "pursue sexual relationships" with women at Fox.

The story stung, but it was not surprising. For one thing, Fox executives and O'Reilly's representatives had known the Times investigation was in the works for months.

But they didn't need an investigation to know about O'Reilly's reputation. Inside Fox, there is a recognition that O'Reilly is a cable news legend, a loudmouth beloved by Fox's base -- but that he's also a liability because of his personal behavior.

O'Reilly settled a sexual harassment suit from ex-producer Andrea Mackris in 2004. (That payout accounts for $9 million of the $13 million in settlements The Times described, according to the paper.) And his ugly divorce proceedings, and the fallout from them, were documented by Gawker and its sister sites for years.

The Times (where I worked until 2013) began looking into the settlement payouts late last summer, after founding CEO Roger Ailes resigned amid a sexual harassment scandal.

The forthcoming story was the subject of C-suite office chatter throughout the winter. Murdoch associates wondered how damaging the story could be and discussed ways to blunt the impact.

The story went through an extensive legal review process. On Friday, as the Times was preparing to splash the story across the front page of Sunday's paper, a lawyer for O'Reilly threatened consequences, saying in a statement, "We are now seriously considering legal action to defend Mr. O'Reilly's reputation."

O'Reilly, 21st Century Fox said in a statement, "denies the merits of these claims."

In a statement on his web site,O'Reilly said he struck settlement deals to spare his children from hurtful headlines about lawsuits.

By the time the story came out, the Murdochs had already decided to extend O'Reilly's contract. The Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal was the first to report the new deal, and a source confirmed it to CNNMoney.

O'Reilly's contract, said to be worth about $18 million a year, was due to expire at the end of 2017; now it is unclear when it expires.

All of the parties involved declined to comment. But the news of the new deal is a contractual show of support from 21st Century Fox.

The support has limits, however. Two executives, speaking on condition of anonymity, suggested Fox is taking a wait-and-see approach to the controversy that's been triggered by the Times investigation.

The case has parallels to professional sports, in which the business interests of teams and leagues sometimes override concerns about players' off-the-field behavior as millions of people look past the unsettling news coverage and tune in for the show.

Some Kashmiris throw rocks, others hew them for development: Narendra Modi at Chenani-Nashri tunnel inauguration |CNN

While some Kashmiris were busy “throwing rocks”, others were cutting through mountains to bring development to Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday and congratulated the youth of the state for the Chenani-Nashri tunnel that he inaugurated for better connectivity between the troubled Valley with the rest of India.

“On one side, there are those who are pelting stones, and on the other, there are youth of Jammu and Kashmir who are carving a future of development for their state by cutting through rocks,” Modi told a rally here. Amid “Modi, Modi” chants from the crowd, the Prime Minister said the tunnel, the country’s longest, was a huge jump for the infrastructural development of Jammu and Kashmir — that has long suffered from industrial backwardness and limited economic opportunities due to the lack of good road connectivity with the rest of the country.

“This tunnel is not just the longest tunnel but a big leap for Jammu and Kashmir in terms of development,” said Modi addressing a crowd of thousands. Referring to the decades of separatist violence, he said it has done no good but only brought bloodshed to Jammu and Kashmir. He said the youth of Kashmir Valley had to choose between tourism and terrorism to shape their futures. “I want to tell the youth of the Valley, you have two paths which can decide your fate. On one hand, you have tourism and then there is terrorism.

“So many innocent lives have been lost (in the violence that began in the late 1980s). This has done no good to anybody but has only left the valley bloodied. This bloodshed has not done good to anybody but has only snatched sons from their mothers,” Modi said. “Had these 40 years been used for developing tourism, things would have been different.” Stressing on the state’s tourism potential and ability to boost the country’s per capita income, Modi asked the people to work shoulder to shoulder with the government and change the fortunes of the state.

The Prime Minister termed the Chenani-Nashri tunnel as the state’s “fate line” and said it would boost the economy of the state and farmers would be able to send their produce to Delhi markets promptly, without concerns of delay. The tunnel, that connects Udhampur and Ramban districts of Jammu and Kashmir, bypasses a dangerous hilly terrain of over 30 km of the strategic Jammu-Srinagar National Highway — the only surface link that connects the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India.

Built at a cost of over Rs 2,500 crore, the tunnel, situated at an altitude of 1,200 metres, cutting through the mighty Himalayas, has traffic and fire control systems, video surveillance, FM connectivity and transverse ventilation systems. In addition to saving nearly two hours from the over 10-hour travel time on the highway, the passage of traffic through the tunnel will result in a daily saving of Rs 27 lakh in terms of fuel used by vehicles.

The tunnel, which took over five years to build, will also bypass some 44 avalanche – and landslide -prone spots on the nearly 300-km-long highway, which shuts when it rains heavily and snows in Kashmir. Modi congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir youth who worked to make the tunnel a reality. “The money for this tunnel came from the government of India. But there is also the scent of sweat of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth in this tunnel.”

He said the government had made every attempt to preserve the environment and the Himalayas while constructing the tunnel on the strategic Jammu-Srinagar highway. “It’s

Tina Fey Sends Message to the White Women Who Voted For Trump |CNN

Fey was part of a star-studded telethon for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) broadcast on Facebook Live, which included fellow actors Tom Hanks, Amy Poehler and Tracy Morgan who joined Fey by contributing with individual comedic sketches and speeches.

“A lot of this election was turned by white, college-educated women who now would like to forget about this election and go back to watching HGTV,” the comedian said during the event.

“I would want to urge [white women] to like, ‘You can’t look away’ because it doesn’t affect you this minute, but it’s going to affect you eventually,” Fey added during a conversation about women’s access to reproductive care. The "Saturday Night Live" alum went on to say that under the current administration with Vice President Mike Pence working to defund Planned Parenthood on a national level that women's health care is under attack.

female voters supported Donald Trump in the November election compared to the 43 percent who voted for Hillary Clinton, according to CNN exit polls. More than 60 percent of white men voted for Trump, compared to 31 percent for Clinton.
Fey specifically called out college-educated white women, of whom the majority did vote for Clinton - 51 percent, while 44 percent voted for Trump. About 53 percent of white college-educated men voted for Trump, with 39 percent supporting Clinton.

Smart India Hackathon, a true brainteaser | CNN

250 engineering students, including 137 girls, take part in the event

An aura of achievement pervaded the air where young engineering students racked their brain to meet a challenge. After all, they were the few short-listed ones among lakhs of aspirants and the task was monitored by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.

These were 250 engineering students formed into 41 teams at ‘Smart India Hackathon’17’, held at CVR College of Engineering, finding solutions for challenges faced by government departments. The CVR College, a lone institution in Telangana hosting the programme of the Ministry of HRD, was one among the 26 nodal centres in the country where the competition is being held.

The event was inaugurated by Minister for Human Resource and Development, Prakash Javadekar, through a video conference while JNTUH Vice-Chancellor A. Venugopal Reddy encouraged them personally to showcase their skills in what could be termed the world’s biggest digital movement. “Students were excited about the tasks given to them and interestingly, 137 girls took part in the event along with their mentors,” said C.V. Raghava, chairman of CVR College. Other dignitaries present included B.V. Ram Kumar, Deputy Director, NIEPID (National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities); Bala Murugan, South Central Regional Officer, All India Council for Technical Education and Yogesh Deshpande, practice head, GS Lab.

These students would work 36 hours non-stop to build tools for 598 problems posed by 29 government departments. The digital solutions that would be created would be used to improve the functioning and governance. Winners would get cash prize and a chance to be a part of NASSCOM’s 10,000 start-ups’ programme.
